A goalless draw against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge might not have been what Chelsea fans and Antonio Conte were hoping for in today’s derby game, but Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has insisted that he’s happy with the team’s performance despite the two points dropped against the Gunners.
He said in his post-match press conference: “The performance was a good one. When you play this type of game, it is a massive game and you know very well anything can happen. We tried to create chances and win, both teams did.
“We started the game very well, the first 20 minutes, and we suffered a little in the middle of the first half. But sometimes people forget that Arsenal are one of the top six in England. We know the type of game we had to face. Arsenal is a really good team, they are a strong team and have a lot of top players.”
Up next for Chelsea in the Premier League is an away game at Stoke City on the 23rd of September.
