After Chelsea paid a record fee to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid during the summer, a lot of critics claimed the Spain international won’t live up to expectations in the Premier League.
However, six games on, the 24-year-old already has six Premier League goals to his name and seven in all competitions having played a total of seven games for Chelsea.
Antonio Conte who also signed the Spaniard for Juventus has revealed that he isn’t surprised by the good form of the Chelsea record signing.
He said in his press conference: “I’m not surprised. I know Alvaro very well. For sure to arrive and go into this league is not simple. You need a bit of time to adapt yourself. But I’m pleased. I’m pleased for him. He’s playing very well, scoring and is totally in our style of football. He’s improved a lot his physical condition. I’m happy.
“Now it’s important to continue in this way. For him, it’s the first chance to play regularly as a No9. Don’t forget, in the previous experiences with Juventus and Real Madrid, he didn’t play regularly. Now he has the responsibility and pressure, and he is playing really well.”
