Three days after playing the entire 90 minutes and scoring a goal in the 2-1 victory over Leicester City, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has admitted that Alvaro Morata might not start against Qarabag in the Champions League game on Tuesday night.
According to Conte, Morata is improving but he trusts his entire squad and could rotate his team as he also has his mind set on this weekend’s fixture against Arsenal, while considering a huge run of games that the team will be involved in this September.
Conte said in his press conference at Cobham today: “Morata is playing very well. He’s scoring and he’s totally involved in our style of football. He’s improving a lot. Morata played the whole game with Spain, then he played the whole game against Leicester. I have to check many situations and then to make the best decision for tomorrow.
“It’s normal when you have to play seven games in 21 days I have a necessity to rotate my players. I’m very calm about this because I trust my players.”
