Chelsea signed Tiemoue Bakayako from Monaco during the summer for a fee of £40 million.

Although Bakayoko still needs time to be fully integrated into the Chelsea team, there is no doubt he brings important attributes to the squad.

And Conte has analysed just where he needs to work on.

“Baka is a good player and he is 23 years old,” said Conte. “He has a lot of room to improve in tactical aspects, and also in physical aspects. Baka has been a good signing for us. He is working very well.

“He needs a bit more time than other players to understand very well our style of football. Above all, if you’re a midfielder you need time to understand the right position. We try to play with an identity, and if you want to give an identity to your team every single player needs to know very well your idea of football.”

Conte added: “To have in your team a powerful player is very important, above all in this league which is very tough physically. If you are not prepared for this impact you can suffer a lot.”
