Chelsea started their Champions League campaign with a 6-0 win against Qarabag on the opening day, but the Blues are also grouped with heavyweights Atletico Madrid and Roma.
Antonio has admitted that Chelsea’s group is a tough one and that the Blues weren’t lucky in the draws.
“I think Roma has all the cards in place to go ahead,” the former Italy manager told Radio Anch’io Sport in his home country.
“I do not think we were lucky in the draw, ours is one of the most difficult teams.
“Atletico has a great deal of experience, we have returned with so much enthusiasm and want to do our best.
“Roma is a team that can compete in Italy for maximum goals and can do well even in the Champions League.
“We must think step by step, so before we go past the round of Champions.
Conte then revealed that he wouldn’t want to face an Italian team in the next round of the competition.
He said:”I would prefer to avoid playing the Italian teams, I know their tactical preparation and strength.”
