Chelsea are back in the Champions League after a year of being absent and Antonio Conte has said that he’s pleased we are back in club’s biggest football competition.
Conte would also be back managing in the Champions League after three years absence and speaking about Champions League return, he said: “I played two Champions League with Juventus. I think when we played CL with Juventus, Juventus wasn’t this Juventus. We were at the start of our path. Don’t forget this.
“The previous season we dropped against Bayern Munich, the quarter-final, then Bayern Munich won the tournament. The next season we reached the final of the EL against Benfica.
“I have had these two experiences in Europe with the team. For sure I have more experience in this competition as a player. I played a lot of years. I played four finals. I won only one.
“This is a great competition and we must be pleased to be back after last season. We must be proud to play in this competition. This competition is very tough.”
