Chelsea travel to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday for their second Champions League group game, and it would involve Alvaro Morata, the former Real Madrid striker who just joined Chelsea this summer.

It will be Morata’s first return to Spain since leaving Atletico’s rivals Real Madrid in the summer, and Thibaut Courtois who spent three years on loan with Atletico has warned Morata of the kind of reception he could get on Wednesday.

“Alvaro played a lot of games against Atlético,” said the Chelsea number one.

“I think it will be a big game against his old rivals.

“It will be more friendly for me but between the 90 minutes I will also be a rival of Atlético.”
