Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek who’s currently on loan with Crystal Palace has suffered a knee ligament injury and could be out for up to six weeks.
The Chelsea midfielder, who is on a season-long loan from Chelsea, has been the Eagles’ best player so far this campaign and will be a huge miss for Roy Hodgson’s men.
Hodgson is having a lot of injury worries in his team and has confirmed that Loftus-Cheek has joined the injury list.
“Loftus-Cheek has a thigh strain, he has been injured for some period of time, and that will keep him out of the game,” Hodgson told reporters.
“Wilf Zaha of course you know about. Who else is there? There’s plenty, James Tomkins is sick so he’s out. Connor Wickham again you know about so unfortunately we have been hit by a plague of injuries at a time when we could have done without it.
He added: “I’m afraid there is a lot of injury news, which is pretty much bad news for us in our current plight. Benteke you know about, like Mendy he got injured in the game, his injury is slightly less serious than Mendy’s but he’s got the medial ligament damage which will keep him out for a minimum of six weeks.”
