According to reports, Everton midfielder Ross Barkley rejected the chance to join Chelsea midway through his medical at Chelsea.
Everton owner Farhad Moshiri claimed Barkley turned down the chance of joining Chelsea despite both clubs agreeing on a £35million fee and undergoing a medical.
Barkley has released a statement on Twitter denying any medical had taken place. According to Barkley, he decided to make a decision on his future in January when he is fully fit.
“Contrary to a number of reports in the press, I did not undertake a medical with any club at any point,” Barkley tweeted.
“I simply decided that due to my injury, it would be best to make a decision on my future and assess all my options in January when fully fit. Thanks for all of the support.”
