You’d have to admit that Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann is gracious in defeat after he admitted that Chelsea were worthy winners in the 2-1 win at the new Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
Speaking on Beinsports Griezmann admitted Chelsea deserve the victory and added that he was not happy with how he personally had played on the night.
“They were the better team in every aspect,” Griezmann said. “There is nothing else to say. We must try and win all our games now. In the first half they were on top of us, and in the second half they were better [too]. Maybe we lacked a better game from me. Apart from the goal I did not have a good day. I must learn from this and keep working.”
Griezmann scored from the spot kick five minutes before the end of the first-half, but Chelsea came back in the second-half to take all three points via a 60th minute Morata header and a last-minute goal from Batshuayi.
