Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda wasn’t part of the Belgium U21 squad to take part in their Euro qualifying campaign, and reports claim the Belgium U21 manager wanted Musonda to be part of their team to play Turkey in their Euro 2019 qualifying clash, yet the Chelsea talent didn’t want to be involved.
Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez is said to be unhappy with Musonda and have hit out at the 20-year-old.
The Belgium manager, told DH: “Johan (Walem) has one of the most complicated jobs in football: to manage to involve U21s who are very talented and who, sometimes, feel that going there is not rewarding. That’s the truth.
“They are players that are important in their club, and whose next goal is to be part of the national team.
“It’s our role, and I include myself here, to let them know how important it is for these young players to go with the U21s and win games.”
