Chelsea signed Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window for a record fee of £60m, and the Spain international is justifying the large sums spent on his signing having scored 7 goals in 7 matches so far.
Morata, who scored the equaliser against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night in the Champions League has hailed Eden Hazard for making it easy for him, as he claims the Belgian is one of the best in the world.
The pair’s superb link-up play was the key to Chelsea’s 2-1 win at Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, with the Spaniard scoring the crucial equaliser for his seventh in seven games – from Hazard’s cross.
Morata said: “It’s not difficult playing with this kind of player.
“Eden is one of the three best players in the world. It’s easy for me playing with him.”
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash against Manchester City, Morata added: “It was a very important test for us as a team. It’s not easy to win at Atletico Madrid.
“This test shows we are ready to fight, that we’re a very good team. We did a good job on Wednesday.
“Always we go the same way – always ready to fight, always moving the ball very fast when we have possession. We did a very good job.
“Sometimes you don’t deserve to go behind. Atletico scored first, but we kept fighting. It’s not easy to win when Atletico score.
“It was very important for us because now we saw our level against all the other European teams.
“Atletico are always fighting for the title. We’ll take the three points.”
