Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata will drop his number 7 shirt that he wears for the Spanish national team as Spain welcome the return of legend David Villa.

Villa, who is Spain’s all-time leading goalscorer with 59 goals, hasn’t featured for his national side since the 2014 World Cup.

He has now been recalled by Spain manager Julen Lopetegui for their crucial World Cup qualifying ties against Italy on Saturday and away to Leichtenstein on Tuesday next week.

Morata has admitted that he’s happy to vacate the shirt for the 35-year-old veteran.

The Chelsea striker has worn the number 7 jersey for the past two years, but admitted that “The No.7 belongs to David Villa.”
