David Luiz was given a straight red card in the dying minutes of the second half as the Brazilian took long on the ball before letting a late lunge on Kolasinac.

The referee didn’t hesitate to send him off and Chelsea ended the game with ten men.

After the game, Conte said in his press conference: “I don’t like to talk about the referee performance. You have to see what happened before the tackle. There was a foul, but the referee took this decision. If he stops the play before it doesn’t happen.”

He added: “I think I was a player and it can happen, this type of period that we are not so lucky and get three red cards. As I said before we have to try to improve tactically and physically and pay more attention in the future. I hope to be more lucky with the referee decisions. For us and for the opponent, sometimes it is strange with the opponent and they deserved to have a red card but they play with 11 men.”
