If we can remember last season’s events, we’d all say that this season is just a Deja Vu of what we saw last season.
Manchester City and Manchester United started last season with a bang and were tipped by many to win the league. However, they fizzled out when the going got tough and ended up 3rd and 6th respectively. Chelsea weren’t tipped to win the league after a poor start to the season, but the Blues proved doubters wrong and marched to the Premier League title.
The Manchester giants have started this season in great form, and Jamie Redknapp has predicted that the title race will be between them. But time surely will tell, as it always does.
“It’s remarkable that the Manchester clubs boast identical records atop the Premier League,’ Redknapp said in a column for the Daily Mail.
“With Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku scoring for fun, it’s little wonder that City and United have scored more than a quarter of this season’s Premier League goals.
“There is a long way to go but it is already shaping up to be a battle between Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola for the title. I cannot wait for when they lock horns in December.”
