With the Chelsea squad looking so thin to face Tottenham, Antonio Conte surprisingly played a 3-5-2 formation to good effect and in return, the Blues defeated Spurs right in front of their own fans.

Chelsea have now added Davide Zappacosta and Danny Drinkwater to the squad, and some quarters believe Chelsea should change formation to accommodate all the players.

However, Conte doesn’t see the need to change the system that won him the Premier League title last season.

He said: “We want to continue to play with this system because, don’t forget, there are 11 players who played last season and we changed our system to give them the best condition to exploit their talent. With the new signings we have to try to give them the best chance to be in top condition.”
