Danny Drinkwater formed an enviable partnership with N’Golo Kante during their time at Leicester City. The pair were the league’s best midfield pairing two seasons ago as they helped Leicester City to their first ever Premier League title.
After completing a transfer deadline day move to Chelsea, Drinkwater has spoken about that formidable partnership with Kante.
“I played with N’Golo for a season and there was not really a game I didn’t enjoy playing next to him,” Drinkwater told the official Chelsea website.
“I am looking forward hopefully to carrying on where we left off. I think we hit it off from the first game and after that we did not really lose.”
On the other hand, Kante had also hailed the impact of Drinkwater and their partnership, while revealing that they understand each other to the point they don’t even need to talk.
Speaking in February 2016, Kante said about their understanding: “We try to complement each other. When we play together we don’t speak a lot because we understand each other’s game.”
Indeed, Chelsea fans should be excited.
