Kenedy started his first game of the season as Chelsea demolished Nottingham Forest 5-1 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, with the Brazilian scoring Chelsea’s first of the game.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte revealed after the game that he was happy with Kenedy’s performance against Nottingham Forest. Conte also warned Kenedy that he must exploit every opportunity he is given.
“He played very well and it was a good answer about some players, some young players with us. It is very important to continue to work and I am hoping this type of game and performance improves their confidence. It is important to continue this way,” Conte said.
“We have started to work with him in the last season and if you remember in January Kenedy he started to work with us after a Watford bracket. He is working very well, a lot and I think he is improving. He has to continue and when there will be the opportunity and a new chance he must exploit it.
“For sure when you finish a season and then you have to make the best decision for the team, but also for the player. You must consider that there are some players need to play regularly and improve. If there is this opportunity, we try to do this.
“Now I am very happy to work with my players and try to improve my players, like I said after the end of the transfer market. My work is to improve my players and my team and for me it is very important to work on the pitch. Now we have to try to improve every single player.”
