Chelsea were shocked at Selhurst Park on Saturday as Crystal Palace took all three points, beating the Blues 2-1 in what was a very deserved victory for the Eagles.
After the game at Selhurst Park, Antonio Conte said he felt every player had performed below par.
Alonso was asked about receiving such criticism from his manager in today’s press conference ahead of the Champions League clash against Roma and he said: “It’s the truth. It wasn’t our best game on Saturday. It’s a good call from him to motivate us and to make us work to change things from the last performance.
“Football is a sport that changes very quickly and tomorrow is a good chance to do a good performance and build up from there. The only solution is to work hard and win the next one.”
