Charly Musonda went on a rant on social media as he revealed his frustration at his lack of playing opportunities at Chelsea.
He posted on social media: “You sacrifice, you work hard, harder, you give more than what’s expected, and often more than you can, because you love what you do and clearly more than you should.
“And what do you get back? Literally nothing… done.
“However, with this being said I will continue with same dedication and commitment to this great game.”
However, Belgian football journalist Kristof Terreur claims Musonda had the option of first-team football this season but rejected the chance to go out on loan in the summer.
Terreur tweeted: “The odd thing about the Charly Musonda Jr Instagram rant: he insisted on staying at Chelsea during the summer.
“A loan was never a real option.”
Many fans have compared Musonda’s situation to that of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku, but Terreur has insisted they are two different situations as he admits that Lukaku and De Bruyne have had more playing time before coming to Chelsea.
He added: “Fans like to compare the Musonda situation to KDB and Lukaku. Small difference: both had played 150+ games at the same age and had won titles elsewhere.”
