Chelsea lost 2-1 to bottom of the table Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park on Saturday, a result which means Chelsea have dropped out of the top four after Watford’s victory over Arsenal.
Chelsea skipper Gary Cahill admitted after the loss to Crystal Palace that Chelsea’s performance wasn’t up to standard.
“The performance was not up to standard. We played poorly. For whatever reason, I have no idea,” Cahill said.
“We have many international players who go away but that’s part and parcel and we need to be livelier.
“Today was the basics and it was unlike us. At this moment in time we aren’t having the best of fortune, especially with injuries. Today we lost Victor Mosses.
“We are in a difficult moment. It’s not a huge squad.”
