Chelsea U18 suffered an embarrassing loss away at Southampton as Jody Morris’s side suffered a 4-0 defeat to Southampton. The defeat marked the first time Jody Morris’ side have suffered a loss in the south section for the first time since last September.

Our youngsters had won their opening seven league matches this campaign, but lacked the quality to match Southampton.

Morris made two changes from last weekend’s battling victory away at Leicester, with Nicolas Tie replacing Marcin Bulka in goal and Tushaun Walters, scorer of our late winner in the Midlands, coming in for Billy Gilmour.

The loss brings to an end our 14-game unbeaten run in all Under-18 competitions, stretching back to April.

Chelsea have a quintet of England Under-17 representatives and can’t wait to have their stars back.

Up next for the Blues is a Premier League Cup trip to Brighton in a fortnight.
