Four Chelsea youngsters, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Marc Guehi, George McEachran and Jon Panz started for the England U17 team which defeated Chile 4-0 at the FIFA U17 World Cup taking place in India. Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher was among the substitutes.

Hudson-Odoi, who is on the shortlist for the September PL2 Player of the Month, opened the scoring for England after just five minutes.

Borussia Dortmund playmaker Sancho scored twice in the first 15 minutes of the second period to put the result beyond doubt, with McEachran providing the assist for Sancho’s second and England’s third goal.

Manchester United’s Angel Gomes curled home a free-kick after Chile’s goalkeeper had been sent off for a foul outside the area with ten minutes left.

England’s next game is against Mexico on Wednesday.
