The International break has been the nightmare of many club managers from time immemorial. The casualties that plagued their players are a bitter pill that changes their taste buds and leaves them with stoned faces. The injury to the club’s energetic midfield lynchpin, N’golo Kante is a painful case. Without injured striker, Alvaro Morata, midfielder, Danny Drinkwater and now Kante, Conte is arguably facing his worst spell as Chelsea Head Coach.
To ease Conte worries is the availability of Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoue Bakayoko, and the return of David Luiz from suspension as another midfield option. But another timely occurrence are the club’s October fixtures which appear to be relatively easy on paper.
With league games against Crystal Palace, the league’s bottom team to play this weekend, then Watford and Bournemouth to play, the double-header against Roma in the Champions League and Everton in the Carabao Cup. These games are winnable should provide Conte and Chelsea with the opportunity to make up lost grounds in the league, and advance in both the Carabao Cup and the Champions League.
Victories in the forthcoming games will boost Chelsea credentials as a super challenger on all fronts and boost our quest for silverware.
Let’s make it happen, the time is now. Let’s lift the blue flag flying high. Cheers!
