Chelsea summer signing Danny Drinkwater played his first game for the Blues in the 2-1 win against Everton in the Carabao Cup fourth round clash.

Drinkwater just returned from a calf injury that has kept him out of action since early September, and Conte revealed after the game that Drinkwater isn’t yet 100% percent.

The Chelsea boss said: “We will have three games before the international break and to see him fit 100% may be after the international break. I can count him in games now. If I decide to play with three midfielders, it’s very important.”

Drinkwater and N’Golo Kante formed a formidable partnership during their time at Leicester City and will hope to do same for Chelsea, Kante is also out injured and would be back to action anytime soon.

Conte gave an update on Kante’s likely return from injury. He told the media: “He’s progressing well. I saw him in a good physical condition. At this moment we have to find the strength to keep calm and find the right moment to put him in the team. It will be very easy now to tell him to play. We have to find the best solution for him. He’s ready.”
