Michy Batshuayi started the game against Everton in the Carabao Cup game on Wednesday night.
After saving Chelsea with his brace against Watford on Saturday, Batshuayi led the line for Chelsea against Everton in the League Cup.
While the self-acclaimed batman failed to score against the Toffees, he did enough to impress Conte.
Conte said of the Belgian after the game: “Michy is improving a lot. He’s working well and he’s understanding this football and what I want from him.
“He’s improving a lot and I am very happy. Tonight he didn’t score but he played well. I don’t judge a striker if they score or don’t. Michy is improving a lot. He has a lot of room for improvement.
“Last season was difficult for him and me. Now I think he’s ready to start and come on during the games. It’s important I can count on him.”
