CONTE UNHAPPY WITH EVERTON’S GOAL AS HE TALKS ABOUT CABALLERO

Willy Caballero joined Chelsea from Manchester City after his contract with City wasn’t extended.

Caballero was in goal for Chelsea against Everton in the League Cup fourth round clash at Stamford Bridge, and while Conte was impressed with his performance, the Italian was unhappy to see his team concede a goal.

He told the media after the game: “Willy played very well, but, if I was to find a negative, we conceded a goal in the last minute like against Nottingham Forest. When you’re 2-0 up and there’s only one minute to go the focus is not right. I must be pleased because this draw was difficult for us.

“To go to the next step is important. Last season we lost to West Ham in the second round. We want to fight for this competition, but it will be difficult with the best teams. We want to try and give the opportunity to our young players to have this types of games. We can take some risks, but if we want to develop young players we have to give them the chance to play these tough games.”
