Chelsea looked off from the blast of the referee’s whistle against Crystal Palace on Saturday. The team looked leggy, lethargic and lacked desire to match the intensity of the Palace side who were yet to score a goal in the Premier League this season.

At the end of it all, Chelsea lost at Selhurst Park in what was the third defeat of the season for the Blues.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has admitted that every Chelsea player were below par against Crystal Palace.

“The 11 players on the pitch were not at the right level,” the goalkeeper told French outlet SFR Sport.

“We were not as intense as they [Palace] were at the beginning.

“Then we were very unlucky with the first goal – and we can barely even call it a goal.”

Up next for Chelsea is a Champions League clash against Roma on Wednesday.
