Crystal Palace won Chelsea 2-1 at Selhurst Park on Saturday to register their first win of the season. The goals against Chelsea were also their first of the season.
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson revealed after the game that his team won Chelsea because their defence, midfield and attack were excellent against Chelsea.
He also revealed his players now understand what they have to do with and without the ball.
“It was a superb team performance, not just down to one player,” Hodgson said.
“I would prefer to flag up our defence was excellent, midfield were superb and Wilf and Townsend were superb, beating players.
“The reason for beating them was due to Zaha and the ten others, not just [Zaha].
“I would like to think we are understanding more of what we are doing with and without the ball.
“All tactics have to be in solid principles.
“There are minor tweaks where we have to deal with.”
