Chelsea chief Michael Emenalo has hailed the Chelsea Ladies manager Emma Hayes for the ‘outstanding’ work she has done following the news that the Chelsea Ladies manager has signed a new contract with the Blues.
Hayes had committed her long-term future to the club by putting pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal, and after a good start to the season in the league and Champions League, Emenalo is happy with the development.
“Emma has already had a long stay with us and hopefully she will go on to stay for a very long time,” said Emenalo.
“The reason we are very excited is because of what she brings to the programme; she’s very experienced, very knowledgeable and she cares.
“She’s one of those outstanding professionals who has spent time to develop her craft and find new ways to continue to be consistent in order to have success. She’s been absolutely brilliant with the Ladies.”
Speaking about Hayes’s success since she became the manager in 2012, Emenalo told the official Chelsea website: “Emma is very ambitious and I’m sure she wants to win everything.
“We also understand it’s an ascending project and we have to give it some time, but this is Chelsea Football Club and we raise the bar as high as possible.
“She’s done terrific already with a Double and different trophies, and now we hope within this period we’ll get the Champions League.”
