Former Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce believes Willian’s performance against Manchester City on Saturday was one of his worst ever performances in a Chelsea shirt.
What they were hoping for was to dominate the game in midfield and wrestle some of the possession away from Manchester City,” Pearce said on Sky Sports.
“As it happened, that didn’t happen.
“They didn’t have an out-ball up front.
“Willian, as the game went on, got worse and worse to be fair.
“It was one of the worst games I’ve ever seen him play.
“He didn’t contribute to the team effort in dominating the ball in midfield.
“The fact they couldn’t wrestle possession away from City didn’t change the access of the game in any way, shape or form.”
