Belgium had a strong World Cup qualifying campaign as they were the first European side to secure a place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia earlier this month.
However, it didn’t deter them from putting a strong show in their last game against Cyprus.
A brace from Eden Hazard and a further two from Thorgan Hazard and Romelu Lukaku ensured Belgium won their last game 4-0.
Eden Hazard’s younger brother Thorgan, has joked that he and brother Eden Hazard did their best to keep the ball away from Michy Batshuayi and Romelu Lukaku in Belgium‘s 4-0 win on Tuesday night.
In the end, while Batshuayi didn’t get a goal, Lukaku scored one 12 minutes after coming on.
“Before the game, we had told Michy he wouldn’t touch the ball because we were going to play with each other all the time,” Thorgan Hazard admitted after Belgium’s win.
“In the end, it’s a shame Romelu [Lukaku] scored at the end, otherwise there would have only been the name Hazard on the scoresheet.
“Eden had told me to put in a good performance, and I think it was. It’s just a shame I missed two chances, but it’s not too bad to score once from three opportunities.”
