Michy Batshuayi had the opportunity to start against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday with Alvaro Morata out injured, but the 24-year-old failed to make it count as he looked below par all through the game and failed to make any telling contribution.
He was on the pitch till the 57th minute when Antonio Conte brought him off for Pedro.
Ian Wright has revealed Batshuayi’s problem is his inability to make defenders work off their socks.
“The problem I’ve got with him is he’s not making defenders work hard enough to get some space for him to get a chance in the box,” Wright said on Match of the Day.
“He needs to make that movement in order to get into space.
“His movement doesn’t have enough intensity about it.”
