Chelsea signed Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City on transfer deadline day and the former Premier League champions tried to sign Adrien Silva from Sporting Lisbon on transfer deadline day as replacement for Drinkwater.
With the paperwork all that was needed for the deal to be completed, Chelsea and Leicester City had to ask for an extension from the Premier League for two extra hours after the 11pm deadline so that they conclude all that had to be done.
While the Drinkwater deal managed to go through, Leicester’s paperwork for Silva was reportedly 14 seconds late, which means that FIFA rejected the move and he has not been allowed to play in the Premier League.
Leicester then had their appeal rejected, which means that they will have to wait until January for their summer signing to be allowed to feature for them.
This has left fans of the club extremely frustrated
