It was an embarrassing defeat for Chelsea away at Crystal Palace, as the Eagles got their first win of the season against the champions.
See how the players fared in this game
Courtois: His defence let him down for the two goals and there was barely anything he could do. 5/10
Azpilicueta: Scored an own goal and struggled with the pace of Wilfried Zaha all game. Zaha easily beat him for the second goal. Not the best of games from the Spaniard who’s always very reliable. 4/10
Luiz: Didn’t have a good connection with his backline as the defence didn’t look sharp at all today and there was no cohesion among the back three. 5.5/10
Cahill: Was probably the best among the back three today, and while he didn’t really make mistakes, his backline looked really shaky. 6/10
Bakayoko: Scored Chelsea’s only goal of the game but it wasn’t really his best performance. 6/10
Fabregas: He lacked the pace to stop Palace’s attack but his passing found Pedro and Musonda delightfully, but poor finishing and bad timing made it not count for an assist. Assisted Bakayoko for his goal. 6/10
Moses: Got injured in the first-half and was subbed off for Zappacosta.
Alonso: Looked a bit lively in the second-half, but didn’t push high up enough in the first-half as Crystal Palace attack opened Chelsea up a couple of times. 5.5/10
Willian: Held on to the ball for too long, tried to do too much, but was below average today. He lost the ball that led to Zaha’s goal. 4.5/10
Hazard: It wasn’t his day. Showed a bit of his old self on one or two occasions, but the Chelsea attack looked leggy. 6/10
Batshuayi: He can’t blame Conte for substituting him early. He was below par today and didn’t show he could stand in for Morata. 4/10
Zappacosta: Came on for the injured Victor Moses and had livened up Chelsea’s game in the second-half. 6/10
Pedro: Replaced Batshuayi just after 57 minutes and brought a bit of life to the Chelsea attack. 6/10
Musonda: Almost got a goal but his finishing let him down. Came on for Willian after 65 minutes and showed a bit of confidence in his game. 6/10
