Nigeria just needed a point to secure their qualification for next year’s World Cup in Russia, and the Super Eagles fought hard to defeat Zambia and book their place in next year’s showpiece.
It wasn’t an easy game as second-placed Zambia fought hard to spoil Nigeria’s party as a win would have boosted their chances of qualification with one game left in the qualification round.
Zambia came with an attacking plan while Nigeria were intent on hitting their opponents on the break, and Chelsea’s right wing-back Victor Moses was a constant threat to Zambia.
Moses then played a big role deep in the second-half of the game to find Abdullahi Shehu in space, with the midfielder cutting the ball back for substitute Alex Iwobi to finish the move.
So Nigeria are through to Russia with just one game left to spare.
