Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante was involved in almost all of Chelsea’s games last season as he helped the Blues to the Premier League title. He also played a similar role for Leicester City just two seasons ago, and now the France international has missed the Blues’ last four games after suffering a thigh injury on international duty at the start of September.

And Robert Pires thinks there could be another problem that Kante is dealing with. The former Gunner and France midfielder thinks Kante is suffering from exhaustion.

He told bwin: “He’s so important for the balance of Chelsea’s team.

“I think the main reason he’s struggled is that he’s burning out – he’s perhaps a bit too tired.

“Don’t forget he’s pretty much played every game for about three seasons now – that’s a lot of minutes.”

Conte revealed in his press conference today that he will rest Kante for the game against Bournemouth ahead of the Champions League fixture against Roma.
