If you asked many who Chelsea’s best player of the season so far is, Alvaro Morata will probably be the name that many would say.
However, Sky Sports pundit Chris Kamara has named Cesar Azpilicueta as the club’s best player so far this campaign.
Kamara feels Azpilicueta has been very good in defence, and the Spain international, who scored a crucial goal for Antonio Conte’s side against Watford, has also set up a good number of Morata’s goals so far this campaign – labelling him as Chelsea’s unsung hero.
“Chelsea fans might say Morata is their player of the season so far,” Kamara said.
“I’m going with Azpilicueta.
“The reason why I am going with him is because he plays everywhere in the three central defensive positions.
“He plays the right wing-back position, he started the game (against Watford) in the right wing-back position.
“But (Marcos) Alonso went off and he ended up on the left wing in that wing-back position.
“And he makes this (goal), he gets a bit of luck don’t get me wrong, but the important goals that he’s got already this season himself and the goals that he’s made for Morata, I think he’s an unsung hero.”
