Chelsea were insipid in the loss to Crystal Palace who have been tagged as the worst team in the league this season.
And pundit Chris Kamara believes Chelsea’s defence against Palace was very poor, and he thinks Marcos Alonso was at fault for Crystal Palace’s first goal on Saturday.
“Antonio Conte won’t be happy with some of the things that happened,” Kamara said on Sky Sports.
“It happens from time to time, when you play three centre-backs you have a problem because you don’t have anybody to mark at times, especially when you’re playing Palace.
“The three centre-backs are Azpilicueta, (David) Luiz in the middle and Gary Cahill.
“On the edge of the box you’ve got Cesc Fabregas, Cesc Fabregas’ man is Cabaye who was on the edge of the box.
“Also, players making mistakes and doing things that you would not expect.”
Speaking on Alonso’s defensive mistake for the first goal, Kamara said: “Marcos Alonso, in this particular instance, there he’s got Andros Townsend and I don’t know if he thinks he has to get attracted to the ball, he’s got to go the ball, but all of a sudden he goes,” he continues.
“Now Cesc has got to get across so he can’t be with Cabaye.
“Cabaye comes in there and that’s where the bit of good fortune comes from.”
