Eden Hazard has been one of the best players in the Premier League since signing for Chelsea in the summer of 2012.

He has since gone on to be the most highly-rated player in the Premier League, and ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Roma in the Champions League last night, former Germany international Lothar Matthaus reckons Hazard must prove himself if he’s to be regarded as the division’s top talent once again.

Writing for The Sun, Matthaus said: “This is a night for Eden Hazard to show what he can really do.

“Europe is extra special when you play big teams and these games are an opportunity for great players to prove their ability.

“Two years ago he was the best player in England and he must get back to that level as Chelsea need his pace and directness.”

Eden Hazard responded to Matthaus comment as he bagged a brace in the game and looked sharper last night, with his deft header helping Chelsea to get a point against Roma.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
