Chelsea star Eden Hazard is among the top 30 players in the world at the moment as the 26-year-old made the nomination for the Ballon d’Or.
However, Hazard has insisted that his top performances were not for personal gain, but for the good of the team.
“It is not a goal [to be nominated for the Ballon d’Or] at all. Last year I tried to make the best season possible,” Hazard said.
“It was an excellent year.”
Hazard has returned from his three-month injury that made him miss the whole of Chelsea’s pre-season and even the start of the season for Chelsea.
Hazard has admitted that it wasn’t easy for him to miss football for that long and that coming back from a long-term injury wasn’t easy.
He said: “I missed football for three months [and] it’s not easy to come back after a big injury but I did.
“I worked out during the summer. I just want to play football. I will miss some games, I will play bad for some games. I just want to play football and try to bring the best of me.”
