The season has begun in exciting fashion and is living up to its hype with Chelsea currently 4th on the table after seven round of Premier League matches.
For Chelsea vice-captain Cesar Azpilicueta, he has continued to impress for Chelsea on the right-hand side of their three-man defence and has made an impact going forward too, providing four assists for countryman Alvaro Morata.
The 28-year-old who is in his sixth season as a Chelsea player since he joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2012, has been hailed as Chelsea’s unsung hero by former Chelsea left-back and fans’ favourite Graeme Le Saux.
Asked to name his old side’s unsung hero, Le Saux told Starsport: “It would have to be Azpilicueta, he’s assisted Morata on four goals, is versatile and has been their unsung hero for a few years now.
“He hardly misses a game and offers real quality in possession; I can understand why he’s easy to overlook but would never underestimate his importance to the team.”
