Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has started his Chelsea career in fine form having scored six goals in his first six games for the Blues before suffering a muscular injury against Manchester City on Saturday.
Former Chelsea and Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips is convinced the signing of Morata was a good one made by Antonio Conte and that the 24-year-old is heading the way of legendary Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
He told 888sport: “I still think that Chelsea have quite a lot of depth and they remain title challengers.
“Conte wanted more players but for the team that won the title last season there is not much change and they’ve added Morata who is on fire at the minute. So I don’t think they’re worrying too much.
“Morata is quick and he has an endeavour to get in the box when the ball goes in there. I’m enjoying watching Morata.
“He’s assuring Chelsea fans that they have nothing to worry about Costa leaving.
“I wouldn’t say that Morata is in Didier Drogba’s space now but if he keeps scoring and running in behind and creating chances for others then he’s heading in that direction because he does the same things that Didier did.
“He runs into channels, he creates chances, and he finishes.”
