Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has urged his teammates to step up and be more consistent starting from Sunday’s game against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

“We need that consistency back because it’s important,” said Azpilicueta as quoted on Chelsea’s official website.

“We had three wins in a row but we couldn’t win in the Champions League [against Roma] so now is the moment to step up, play a good game against Manchester United and try to get the three points. After the international break we need to get that consistency.

“We need to be together even more in tough moments. We have enough experience to know that in football there are ups and downs. Sometimes with big wins you can’t lose your heads, and it’s the same with draws or defeats, so we have to keep that balance and analyse in order to try to improve and move on.

“We know it’s a long season and we have to try to reach our best level to get the consistency we need to achieve titles, it’s at the end of the season when you win those.”
