Thibaut Courtois had a good season with Chelsea last term and won the Golden Glove after keeping the most number of clean sheets.

While he hasn’t kept so many clean sheets this season due to Chelsea’s poor defending, Belgium boss Roberto Martinez still thinks the Chelsea goalkeeper should have been nominated for the Ballon d’Or.

The former Everton manager told So Foot: “And two or three players who maybe just about missed out on a nomination, like Thibaut Courtois and Marouane Fellaini.”

The 24-year-old has developed to become one of the most sought-after goalkeepers in the game today.
