It’s exasperating to say that it’s been a topsy-curvy season for Chelsea and Antonio Conte so far. Good results have been overshadowed by poor results. The nature of our defeat to Roma on Tuesday night in the Champions league dampened moods after momentous successive wins in the league. The onus is on Conte to rally his Blues troops to rescue Chelsea’s season from falling apart. It’s time for the players to put their mistakes and abysmal performances behind them and raise their game to lift the club.
The league won’t be decided in November, but after disappointing showings in October in which we had relatively easier games, the time to show the thrust of champions is now. Chelsea must get positive results against Manchester United (h), West Brom Albion (a), Qarabag (a), Liverpool (a), and Swansea (h).
These are not easy games and Chelsea must be ready to fight for maximum points to still be in the title contention picture and have a realistic chance to win silverware.
Let’s cheer on the team.
