With Antonio Conte fielding a 3-5-2 formation in recent times, Willian has found himself just out of the Chelsea first team, and it has made him a subject of rumours.
A Brazilian journalist Sandro Barboza claimed that Willian had opened negotiations with Brazilian club Palmeiras, over a potential transfer in 2018 but the Chelsea star promptly shut the report of the journalist immediately.
“Palmeiras and William are negotiating,” wrote journalist Sandro Barboza (in Portuguese) on Twitter. “The Chelsea player liked the proposal and can play in Verdão in 2018. Remember that negotiating is not hiring. But the business is well underway.”
To which Willian (also in Portuguese) responded: “Hello Sandro, all right? Sorry, but I’m not negotiating with Palmeiras and my agent has received no contact from the club. I have no plans to return to Brazil right now. A hug!”
Oi Sandro, tudo bem? Desculpe, mas não estou negociando com o Palmeiras e meu empresário não recebeu nenhum contato do clube. Não tenho nenhum plano de voltar ao Brasil nesse momento. Um abraço!

Willian had also recently rejected claims that he was going to join Manchester United even though he admitted having contact with the club managed by Jose Mourinho.
