Chelsea have kept a clean sheet in our last two Premier League games, as we defeated Bournemouth and Manchester United with a 1-0 victory and a solid defensive showing.
Chelsea captain Gary Cahill has shown his delight at shutting things at the back and wants it to continue that way.
“Any successful team is built on being solid and not conceding too many goals because that gives you a platform to go on and win games,” Cahill told the official Chelsea website, ahead of the West Brom clash.
“Last season we were used to that, this season not so much yet. It’s pleasing that we’ve been tighter of late, especially in the league, but we still need to keep working to make sure we get back to what we expect, which is not conceding many goals.
“In some ways it was a shame we had the international break after the Man United result because clearly it was a huge match and because of the timing, with it coming so soon after the Roma game, we needed to deliver. We felt as though we did deliver and we were buzzing after the game.
“But there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be in a good moment now after the break because it’s still in the back of my mind that the last time we put on the Chelsea shirt we produced a decent performance against a good side and got the result. It’s three league wins on the spin now and we’re looking forward to the game against West Brom.”
