It was a thrilling game for the neutrals in the 1-1 draw between Liverpool and Chelsea. However, it was pulsating and tension filled for the fans of the club, and at the end of the game both set of fans would have been satisfied they didn’t lose the game.

Liverpool drew first blood through Mohamed Salah in the second-half which prompted Conte to bring on Cesc Fabregas, Pedro Rodriguez and Willian as Chelsea pressed Liverpool with all vigour.

Chelsea got a goal through substitute, Willian late in the game, and Conte explained the reasons for his changes after the game.

He said: “I changed Danny because it was the first game for him and he used a lot of energy.

“With Cesc I wanted a more quality in the middle. Pedro I wanted in midfield, then Willian on and Pedro wing-back and have three forwards. I think it was a good decision.”

He added: “The impact of the subs was great, Willian Pedro and Fabregas played against Qarabag and played well. Today when I decided to make the substitution the impact was great I want to create this.”
