Chelsea might have defeated Qarabag 4-0 and booked a place in the Champions League second round, but Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is still unhappy with the team’s fixtures.

The team will make a return trip of 5000 miles to Baku and forth, and still play a day after Liverpool’s game with Sevilla, leaving Chelsea with just one day to train ahead of Liverpool clash.

Conte voiced his unhappiness after the game: “”As you know very well, this is the second time that something happened not positive for football, not positive for the English league, because I think – as you know very well, Darren – the English league is very tough. Very tough.

“There are six top teams who try to fight for the title. To create, for the second time in only one and a half months, problems for one team is not right. Not right. I don’t want to complain about this situation, but this is the reality.

“Now we have to travel for five and a half hours. And then try to rest for one day and prepare the game against Liverpool, another big game like the City game. I don’t want to make excuses, but this is the reality. Also, when people hear the complaints of the coach, also someone has to help us. The press, the TV, to underline this strange situation.

“This group is showing great character. From the start, we faced a lot of problems this season. But, despite this, I think our answer was almost always positive. For sure the second half against Roma was bad, but I think I’m very happy to be the coach of these players, because these players show me every day great commitment, great will, great desire to fight despite a lot of difficulties sometimes.

“I think we are a really good squad. There is a great compactness between us. That will be very important for the present and the future.”
